Block 49

OK!! Now I know why this is called Nearly Insane!!! This one took me several days. I tried paper piecing, but didn't get the technique quite right!! Better luck next time. I am now having a break for a couple of days to unscramble my brain and will ease back in with a simple one next week.

Block 79

Today I went to my favourite fabric store in search of some more mauve fabrics. I found a tiny piece of Liberty which was enough for a border, as well as this cute spot. Raced home to piece it together!!

Block 83

Well, I have now completed all the blocks the NI crew completed in 2008. This one was not difficult but took a while (65 pieces). Not looking forward to the one with over 200!!!!

Block 11

This was a fun one to do ....... and easy!! Whipped it up really quickly.

Block 35

This one was time consuming but not too tricky!! Had fun with the colours.

Block 50

Well.........this one looked easy, but put me to the test!!! I should have done the 5 'square in a square' sections and cut the side panels without the angle and it would have been MUCH easier. Had terrible trouble getting all my corners to meet correctly. Hope the next one is easier!

Block 21

Here is the next one - very easy too.

Block 41

This took a bit longer and I took NIQ advice and added the border strips last. My handle is a bit 'wonky' though. Never been keen on appliqué.

Block 34

And here is the other block with the Flying Geese - they look similar but not too much the same.
I may catch up yet.......

Block 06

Well, I started off doing this block this afternoon and used the Fast Flying Geese method (which I am loving!!), however I seemed to have misread the instructions and ended up with 8 Flying Geese units!! OOps! I looked at the Nearly Insane Blog and discovered that the next block has Flying Geese too. So, I ended up doing 2 blocks today!!

Now I know I am nearly insane!

Block 66

Well, after a busy weekend I have finished this block. Not very difficult and ready to start the next one!!

Block 86

The first edge block. I decided to do this one in two parts, rather than make it and cut it in half, to give each triangle the 1/4 inch seam. Well, I decided it is a VERY long time since I did maths at school. I cut so many of the pieces wrongly and had to do them again. Took me all Friday afternoon, but I think the end result is worth it. Not sure if I will do the other edge blocks like this again. I may just slice the blocks in half and worry about the seams later!!

Block 13

Here is the next one. Very easy too!! Nice change. It only took me a couple of hours to whip this one up last Thursday.

Block 64

Well, here's the next one, completed on Monday after the gym!!! This one took a bit of brain power!! Luckily I had read from the NIQ blog that the 1/2 square triangles weren't all the same size, however it still took a bit of juggling and here it is!

Block 70

This is the first tricky one I have tackled, but I love the colours.
I tried the flying geese with the fast method and it worked well and saved lots of time.
Finished this one last Saturday. Flying along now!!

Block 67

Here is the second block I have done. I am following the Nearly Insane Quilts Blog, so doing them in the same order. Hoping to catch them up!!!! Yes.........we'll see.......
I finished this one last Friday.

First Block - 14

I had been following a Nearly Insane Blog for a few months and was keen to start my NI quilt, but I was going to the UK to do a big walk (another story) so have had to wait till now!! I did the first block last week, and here it is!
I am now badly hooked!!
